As more and more catastrophes are hitting the planet people are thinking greener, as in: what can we do to avoid further environmental damage. Green Weddings are a great and very personal contribution. Some take the green literally.

Viva Polar bears: The English don't like to be lied at by a company that finances disputes of global warming. Eugene Shandu in Daily Green reports: "The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has made a ruling against an ExxonMobil television ad that uses imagery that relates their carbon-emitting power source to wind and solar power and suggests liquefied natural gas (LNG) is super clean."

Following the rig explosion on April 20 BP said about 1,000 barrels of oil a day were leaking into the Gulf of Mexico, an estimate the Coast Guard later raised to 5,000 barrels a day. Oceanographer Ian MacDonald, from Florida State University, told the New York Times that he his analysis showed that the daily spillage could "easily be four or five times" the government's estimate -- or 25,000 barrels.
